A particular challenge on the Amarok was the unique mounting joint used on the front struts, which required extensive development and testing (both in the FEA lab and in vehicle testing) by OME engineers to produce a suitable solution. Multiple front springs, with matching shock absorbers, were developed to suit various vehicle setups, and a front height increase of approximately 20 mm was achieved without the need for expensive modifications. A front trim packer was developed for further fine-tuning of the front ride height. A rear height increase of approximately 20 mm maintains the vehicle's factory rake, and the choice of rear springs provides more options depending on the load intended to be carried. An XL leaf was also developed to help fine-tune the weight load-carrying.
